Interactively refine prompts and copy the final version to the clipboard via Joyride
About this skill
A skill that helps the user craft high-quality, detailed task prompts iteratively. The assistant asks targeted questions through the joyride_request_human_input tool to understand the task's scope, goals, expected outputs, success criteria, and technical constraints. It may also explore the project using the available tools. It then organizes the prompt into clear sections or steps in Markdown format, displays it in the conversation, and copies it to the system clipboard via Joyride. The skill does not write any code.
How do you use this skill?
1. Open a chat in VS Code with the skill enabled, and write an initial idea for the task. Example user request: "Help me write a detailed prompt for adding a login page to my app, specifying the requirements and acceptance criteria."
2. Answer the clarifying questions the assistant asks through the Joyride input window, such as the task scope, required outputs, technical constraints, and success criteria.
3. Allow the assistant to explore the project files using the available tools if it needs to better understand the context.
4. Review the refined prompt that appears in the conversation in Markdown format; you will also find it copied to the system clipboard.
5. Request any modifications or additions. After each revision, the assistant displays the prompt again in the conversation and copies it to the clipboard, then asks you about further changes.
Requirements and limitations
The skill requires the VS Code editor with the Joyride extension, because it relies on the joyride_request_human_input tool to ask questions, and on executing Clojure code via Joyride to call vscode/env.clipboard.writeText and write the text to the clipboard. It is intended for an assistant environment that supports Joyride tools within VS Code, such as GitHub Copilot, and the interactive questioning and clipboard copying features may not work in other environments. The skill does not write code; its output is limited to the prompt text. The files are licensed under the MIT License by GitHub.
