Workflow Description

A self-contained demo that processes recorded AI model call logs without external calls. On HTTP 429 it plans up to 3 retries using the Retry-After header or exponential backoff (1s, 2s, 4s) and consumes the next recorded attempt, without actually waiting. It parses JSON and validates intent, confidence and priority, routes failures to the recorded fallback response, and outputs one delivery record per request with error reasons and an unsent critical alert object when recovery fails.

How it works

  1. 1.Run Manual Trigger and emit 5 fictional call logs.
  2. 2.Plan 429 backoff and validate primary JSON and schema.
  3. 3.Route via If on primaryOk.
  4. 4.Tag valid items as primary_model or validate the fallback response.
  5. 5.Merge both routes and build sorted delivery records with finalError and alert.

Use cases

  • Auditing agent call logs for failure causes.
  • Testing backoff and validation logic before wiring live calls.
  • Generating alert payloads for critical failures.

Requirements

  • The demo needs no credentials.
  • For production, replace the sample node with a real log source of the same schema.
  • Optionally add HTTP Request, Wait and Webhook nodes with your own credentials.

Setup and testing in n8n

  1. Import the workflow and keep it inactive.
  2. Execute Manual Trigger.
  3. Check req-201 and req-202 delivered by primary and req-202 delay is 2000.
  4. Check req-203 delivered by fallback.
  5. Check req-204 and missing-id-5 FAILED with finalError and alert.

Service Value

Ready-made workflow template for automation delivery and service execution.
